But it would take more than a discussion about food to do that. Possibly being swallowed whole by a gigantic Venus's-flytrap would take her mind off this fiasco, but nothing less.

His grin going playful, he bent toward her in a confiding way. She tensed but couldn't retreat. It stunned her when he didn't say anything, instead trailing his tongue along her chin. "I love fig pudding," he murmured, "and I always lick my dish."
